Just letting you know that you won’t be seeing much of me here, as I am WRITING.  Yes, that thing that keeps us awake in the night with characters, plots, epiphanies, fears, loathing, and fantasies of appearing in O Magazine.  I’ll tell you this much about my project: It’s HISTORICAL FICTION.  Never done that before.  It’s scary.  I’ve been researching it for a while now, and I’m finally going to sit down and start writing.  I even have an outline.  And I”m not a “plotter,” I’m a “panters.”  Usually.  But this time I’ writing about a real person–a real person who kept a diary!  So the events are pretty much laid out for me.  My job, as I seem to remember Paula McLain saying in her authorial note to her wonderful novel “The Paris Wife,” is it explore the inner life of my character and the other real-life people around her.

Who is she?  I know, I’m being cagey.  But I don’t want to let anyone get too close yet.  We’ll just say she was in London on the eve of World War II.  But this is not a war book.  It’s a run-up-to-the-war-and-a-million-other-things-before-it-all-goes-to-hell-in-a-handbasket book.  I’m sure that cleared everything up.

But come and see me on Facebook!  I’ll be posting there about writing and the writing life.  I’d love to see you there:  https://www.facebook.com/kerrimajorswriter
